A Youth basketball coach has a very important and fun-filled job in the world. You’ll be teaching small valuable lessons that will stick with the young athletes for the rest of their lives. You’ll become a mentor and teach kids life lessons and to differentiate between what’s good and bad. The kids are in their formative years and will pick up on things pretty fast.

Coaching Tips

(1) The best coaches are always searching for advantages, hence always examine the matchups and take advantage of the favorable ones. (5) Keep switching defenses whenever you find an opportunity. A coach should always keep an eye open for the right moment to make changes in the defense. (2) Players should always practice healthy sportsmanship and follow the rules. They should avoid holding, blocking, pushing, charging, or tripping opponents.

(3) Always use protective knee and elbow pads to protect the kids from bruises and abrasions.

(4) Mouth guards help to protect the teeth and mouth of the players.

(5) Players who wear spectacles should wear safety glasses to protect their eyes.
