To the Multitasking Moms Driving Their Kids Here, There, and Everywhere: We Celebrate You This Mother’s Day

As a company founded by a mom and supported by other working moms and dads, we know all moms do every day to support their families. Day in and day out, you are doing your very best to raise your kids to grow up to be healthy and happy humans. It is exhausting.

Here at GoKid, we want you to know that you are not overlooked. We see you, Mom. We see how tired you are and how hard you are working. We see your cluttered backseats and trunks, the food stains on the car floorboard that may never disappear, and the miles your car has accumulated driving your kids to school, practice, and fun family vacations.

As the carpool solution for moms everywhere, this Mother’s Day we are celebrating all the ways today’s busy moms are using their vehicles to raise their children.

All the Diaper Changes

Did you know that each kid goes through approximately 7,000 diapers in their lifetime and before they are potty trained? That’s a whole lot of diaper changes! Not only do moms change most of the diapers, but it is also moms who are typically responsible for the diaper bag. Given that many men’s restrooms still don’t have changing tables, the primary diaper-changing duty falls to moms on most road trips. Your trunk has a diaper changing station, and you exchanged your purse for a diaper bag.

All the Stops for Potty Breaks

Once you have dismantled the backseat diaper changing station, potty training goes into full effect. As veteran moms know, potty training does not just happen at home. Your vehicle now becomes a stop-and-go vehicle, and you have memorized all the closest (and cleanest) restrooms between Point A and Point B. Your car also always has an extra change of clothes and possibly a travel potty seat.

All the Packed Snacks and Water Bottles

No mom’s vehicle is without a never-ending supply of snacks or water bottles. From the time our babies enter the world until they are driving on their own, our vehicles become movable pantries for our children. You have mastered passing out snacks and drinks at stoplights, and your floorboards never seem to be without goldfish cracker crumbs.

All the Drive-Through Stops

Your mom-mobile has seen her fair share of fast food drive-throughs. Even if you have the best intentions of only feeding your kids healthy meals, studies suggest moms are hitting up the drive-through restaurants pretty frequently. For example, CNN reports, “91% of 871 parents who took an online survey said they had purchased lunch or dinner for their child in the previous week at one of the four largest fast-food restaurant chains.” Yikes!

All the Rearview Mirror Mothering

From the baby days of attached rearview baby mirrors to the teen years, you have mastered using your rearview mirror to mother your kids. With your mirror, you can check on them or issue a stern finger-pointed warning. As they’ve gotten older, you’ve learned the power of looking in the mirror and listening quietly as they tell their carpool friends about their day.

All the Waves and Kisses Blown Through the Window

It’s impossible to count the number of times a mom has lovingly waved goodbye or blown a kiss to her kids after they exited the vehicle. From the first time you dropped your baby off to the first day of kindergarten to graduation day, you waved goodbye and then cried silent tears on the drive home. Your mom’s mobile has been filled with love because you are the one driving it.

Happy Mother’s Day to Moms Everywhere! GoKid understands moms don’t have enough time, so we created our time-saving app with your mom-mobile in mind.
